Herschel Bhasin of Thomas Edison H.S. Gets the Gold at SkillsUSA Internetworking Nationals
"A student from Thomas A. Edison CTE High School in Queens became the first New York City winner of the
Gold Medal in the SkillsUSA National Competition in Internetworking."

Center for Arts Education Internship Program
Jessica Aydinian and Arbaz Medhi successfully completed the Center for Arts Education internship program.
Jessica won an award for excellence and Arbaz .
The Culminating Ceremony was on June 15th at the Ford Foundation in NYC."

Edison Students Are Highest Scoring CISCO NetRiders Team in NY State
"Herschel Bhasin and Anthony Herbert, students at Thomas A. Edison CTE High School in Queens, are advancing
to the National Finals of the 2011 Cisco Networking Academy NetRiders Skills Challenge in the High School category."

Edison Standout Will Take Game; Education to NYU
"The Thomas Edison Senior guard, who competed in the inaugural PSAL Mayor’s Cup girls basketball all-star game Sunday at CCNY, committed to play basketball at NYU two weeks ago. Through the college’s Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), Bove Domenech, who has a 3.5 GPA in her school’s medicine and
pharmacology program, will have 80 percent of her tuition taken care of."

9th Annual Citywide Graphic Arts Competition
In the 2010 Competition, two students from Thomas A. Edison High School participated in the Web Design Portion. Giunauth Naraine, senior won 2nd Place. Celine Wallace, senior won 3rd Place. Both were students of Ms. Sandra Cruz. In Desktop Publishing, Monique Sterling came in 2nd place for her poster on Haiti.

Teen writes Romance Novel

Edison's Double Dutch Team
The Double Dutch team at Edison shows that gym isn't just a class, but also very essential to the body.

Edison's Varsity Baseball Team
The "reinventing" of the Inventors began with the hiring of new Head Baseball Coach Nicholas Vlavianos... "Field of Dreams", telling his players, "If you build it, they will come," the "it" he cites referring to wins and ultimately success. "Kids want to play for a winning program, Edison baseball will be a winning program once again. Mark my words."

Girls learn about science, math career choices
"Students from nine Queens schools participated in HerWorld. They were Thomas A. Edison Career and Technical Education High School, Grover Cleveland, Queens Vocational High School, Robert F. Kennedy, Queens High School of Teaching, Robert F. Kennedy Community High School, Academy of Finance & Enterprise, Humanities and the Art Magnet School and August Martin High School."

Re-Inventing a winning team
"Undefeated. The Thomas Edison High School girl's basketball team is 8 and 0 and headed for the playoffs. Four straight divisional wins for this Jamaica-based team puts them at the top of the Queens B East division standings. Additionally, this victory handed Forest Hills their first defeat of the season on Friday, December 11."

Edison's MOUSE Squad kids earn honors
Room 111 in Thomas Edison Career and Technology High School was recently filled with appreciative alumni and proud staff members who were there to show recognition toward students who participate in the MOUSE program.

Automotive Competition 2008
"Two students from the automotive program at Thomas Edison CTE High School have won first place in the New York State Finals of the National Automotive Technology Competition and will represent New York as they move on to the national competition"

Nike BOOTS Billboards Project
Cindy Bencosme, designed a Billboard located at the corner of Jamaica Ave & Sutphin Blvd, Queens, NY. "Sportswear partnered with the Center for Arts Education in NYC and the Peace and Love organization in Philly and Baltimore to reach out to over 250 kids in those communities."

Statistics Poster Competition 2008, Statistics Poster Competition 2009
For 2008 and 2009 Thomas Edison High School has swept the board in the Grades 10-12 Statistics Poster Competition. All were students of Ms. Nicole Cinque, a Statistics teacher.
