Athletes must join the National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA Clearing House in order to be eligible to play any sport at a Division I or II college.  You will not be allowed to speak with a coach without an NCAA  id#

  • Start thinking about financing your college education.
  • Begin to involve parents in college choice process.
  • Put forth best academic effort in these last years
  • Use the internet to start college search.
  • Register for the NCAA

 

      

 

  • Use the PSAT results, materials and the collegeboard website to begin to develop range of colleges.

  • Talk with graduates who are home from college.
Attend Edison’s Financial Aid Night. December 14 @ 7:00pm

  • Prepare for final exams – colleges look carefully at junior year grades.

  • Develop a preliminary list of colleges (8-12 choices).

  • Find out which college entrance exams are required for your colleges – SAT I, II, ACT)

  • Plan senior year courses.

  • Begin college search

  • Research interesting and challenging summer courses, jobs or activities

  • Register/prepare for March SAT.  Be sure to use college codes on registration form – (one code for all CUNY colleges – 2950).

  • Consider taking SAT II in courses you are finishing this year - if your colleges require them, take SAT.

  • SAT – take exam/send scores.

  • Apply for proposed summer activities.

  • Register for May/June SAT I.  Remember to use college codes on registration form.

  • ARRANGE SPRINGTIME COLLEGE VISITS AND INTERVIEWS (make appointments to see both the admissions and the financial aide officers at each school).

  • DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THE MAY SAT TEST IS APRIL 8th.  Please make sure you register & see Ms. Spano about fee waivers.

  • College Office provides   instructions for the ONLINE ONLY – CUNY application.  You must write, call, use internet to request ALL other applications and catalogs. 

  • Explore Early Decision/Early Action options – Deadlines come in early fall term of senior year.

  • See August/September – Senior Calendar.

  • Identify teachers, whom you may ask for recommendations, (Approach these teachers in Sept. /Oct of senior year.)

  • SAT – take exam/send  scores  May 7th

  • AP exams

  • DEADLINE TO REGISTER FOR THE JUNE 4th SAT IS MAY 6th.  Please see Ms.  Spano about fee waivers.


  • Take SAT JUNE 4th /send scores.

  • Continue college search.

  • Arrange college visits and interviews for summer.
